DAY-01 : Arrival COLOMBO - DAMBULLA

Arrival at Colombo Airport ,Meet & Greet by our representative
Transfer to Dambulla. En route visit Munneswaram temple & Manavari temple
Munneswaram temple – It was here that Lord Rama having killed Ravana, a Brahmin, felt safe from the Brahmahasthi Dosham which had followed him until Munneswaram. Two annual festivals take place in this temple, one in February and the other in August. It was here that Shiva advised Rama to build four lingams to protect himself against the Brahmahasthi Dosham
Manavari Temple - Manavari is the first place where Lord Rama installed and prayed to the Siva lingam after the end of the war with King Ravana. To date this lingam is called as Ramalinga. This Lingam was made by Rama and therefore it is called Ramalingam

DAY-02 : DAMBULLA – TRINCOMALEE - KANDY

After Early Breakfast Transfer to Trincomalee, where visit Thiru Koneshwaram Temple & Shankari Devi Temple.
Thiru Koneshwaram was built by sage Agasthya as per the instruction of Lord Shiva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place has the uniqueness of the Lord building a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion.
Shankari Devi Temple was built by the King Ravana (Once Devi Parvati request to Lord Shiva to built a palace. But Shiva denied as he love Vairagya. After several request from Parvati finally Lord Shiva ordered Vishwakarma to build a palace. Vishwakarma went to Lanka Dweepa and built a wonderful palace. Then Lord Shiva wanted to do griha pravesa. At that time King Ravana was doing Tapasya for Lord Shiva. Pleased by his Tapasya, Shiva & Parvati appeared before him. Shiva gave boons. Ravana was Brahmin by birth & a master of four Vedas, so Parvati asked Ravana to perform puja for their griha pravesa. King Ravana accepted and did all Pujas. Pleased by the dedication of Ravana in doing pujas, Devi Parvati told him to take a boon from her and Ravana asked the palace as a boon. Devi Parvati accepted and gave Lanka Palace to Ravana as Dakshina. Then Ravana request Devi Parvati to live in Lanka. Devi Parvati told that she will be in the form of Shankari Devi (Shakti peeth) as long as Ravan follows her word or else she will leave Lanka. But after some time Ravana brought Sita Mata from Lord Sri Rama. Then Shankari Mata told Ravan to return Sita Mata to Sri Rama. But he refused and Shankari Devi left Lanka & reach Kailash.)
Thereafter transfer to Kandy. Overnight at Kandy

DAY-03 : KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast Transfer to Nuwara Eliya, en route visit Divurumpola. Also visit Ramboda (Hanuman Temple) & Seetha Eliya (Ashok Vatika).
Divurumpola means a ‘Place of Oath’. Mata Sita underwent the Agni test to prove her chastity to Lord Rama after being rescued by him, at this location. Divurumpola is a popular place of worship among locals in the area. The temple depicts paintings of the Ramayana epic. The legal system accepts the sweating done at this temple while settling deputes between parties.
Ramboda (Hanuman Temple) – On these hills of Ramboda where Hanuman was searching for Sita Devi. Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka built a temple with Hanuman as the presiding deity.

Seetha Eliya or Sita Amman Temple (Ashok Vatika) – The stream that runs from the hill, catered to the needs of Sita Devi during her stay at Ashok Vatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. About a century ago of three idols was discovered in the stream, one of which was that of Sita. It is believed that the idols have been worshipped at this spot for centuries. Now there is temple for Lord Rama, Sita Devi, Lakshmana and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints akin to Lord Hanuman's are found by this river and some are of small size and some are of large size, which tells us of the immense powers of hanuman transforming himself into any size.

DAY-04 : NUWARA ELIYA - COLOMBO

After breakfast Transfer to Colombo, en route visit Gayathri Pedam
Gayathri Pedam – It’s believed to be the place from where King Ravana’s son Meghanada propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and prayers and in turn was granted super-natural powers. This is the first and the foremost temple built for Gayathri Amman in Sri Lanka, and the Shiva Lingam found in this temple was brought from the holy river Narmada

DAY-05 : COLOMBO

After Breakfast ,Visit Kelaniya Temple with Colombo city Tour
Kelaniya is the closest site to Colombo connected to the Ramayana. After King Ravana’s death Kelaniya is the place where Vibeeshana was coroneted as King of Lanka by Lakshmana, as Lord Rama was in exile for 14years, could not take part in any coronation ceremony & deputed his younger brother Prince Lakshmana to crown Vibeeshana. Today in this very place a Buddhist shrine and temple for King Vibeeshana exist.
King Vibeeshana is considered one of the four guardian deities of Sri Lanka, and temples for Vibeeshana are found throughout Sri Lanka. A painting of Kind Vibeeshana adorns the new Parliament of Sri Lanka. In fact there are no temples dedicated for Ravana, but many exist for Vibeeshana; this goes to prove that his stand towards dharma & justice made people to revere him as a god in Sri Lanka.
King Vibeeshana was considered a fair king, as he supported Rama against his own brother’s injustice. Many devotees that visit king Vibeeshana’s shrine pray to him asking his intervention to a fair recourse to their problems
